يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلا تَعْدِلُوا اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

“Hai orang-orang yang beriman, hendaklah kamu jadi orang-orang yang selalu menegakkan (kebenaran) karena Allah, menjadi saksi dengan adil. Dan janganlah sekali-kali kebencianmu terhadap sesuatu kaum, mendorong kamu untuk berlaku tidak adil. Berlaku adillah, karena adil itu lebih dekat kepada taqwa. Dan bertaqwalah kepada Allah, sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan”. (QS. Al Maidah : 8).

Adil itu menjadi tuntutan, dan kebenaran menjadi patokan. Dalam upaya menuntut keadilan jangan sampai menjauh dari patokan kebenaran. Kebenaran dan keadilan menjadi sangat penting. Bukan hanya berdampak pada diri kita tapi berdampak pada orang lain juga.

Kebenaran absolut ialah kebenaran yang datang dari Rabb (Tuhan) melalui ilmuNya. Sedangkan keadilan yang ditegakkan oleh hambaNya, terkadang menjadi tantangan tersendiri, mengingat akan kepentingan-kepentingan pribadi, golongan hingga kepentingan pertemanan.

Kebenaran dan keadilan menjadi hal yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan berinteraksi. Kebenaran bersifat terstandart, principle dan universal, sedangkan keadilan ditegakkan dari hukum yang keadaannya terus berkembang, sehingga keadilan penerapannya mendapatkan tantangan yang terus dinamis.

Keadilan dan Kebenaran

Ada yang perlu dijadikan ibrah dari kisah Nabi Yusuf Alaihissalam dan saudara-saudaranya, yang bermula dari pendapat saudara-saudaranya tentang sikap ayahnya yang tidak adil memperlakukan mereka dibandingkan dengan anak yang lainnya, yakni Yusuf. Opini anak-anak yang berkembang ini (tentang sikap tidak adil ayahnya), menjadikan ide yang tertuang secara lisan “Uqtulu Yusuf” (Bunuhlah Yusuf), inilah efek nyata sebuah opini ketidakadilan, hingga muncul ide membunuh.

Dari kisah tersebut di atas, marilah kita jadikan ibrah dan pelajaran. Jangan sampai perasaan tidak adil, kecewa, selanjutnya melupakan kebenaran. Justru saat kita melakukan tindakan tidak benar, kita sedang tidak adil pada diri sendiri.

Ayat di atas memberikan pandangan yang sangat kuat, agar rasa benci, kecewa jangan sampai menjadikan seseorang berlaku tidak adil. Hal ini juga memberikan peringatan kepada para penegak keadilan, agar jangan sampai tebang pilih dalam menegakkan keadilan. Karena seharusnya keadilan itu tidak berpihak kepada like or dislike (suka atau tidak suka), namun kepada nilai perlakuan yang sama, penegakan yang sama.

Keadilan dan Taqwa

Keadilan yang menjadi tuntutan diri dan tuntutan kepada orang yang terkait dengan seseorang, merupakan sikap yang sangat dekat dengan nilai ketaqwaan. Sebuah keadilan akan dapat menguatkan rasa taqwa, yang menjadi substansi paling penting dalam meraih derajat kemuliaan disisi Alloh.

Hematnya seseorang yang berlaku adil dalam kehidupan berkeluarga, bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara akan lebih mulia dalam pandangan Alloh. Seorang Khalifah Adil, Umar bin Khatab banyak sekali memberikan contoh-contoh sikap keadilannya dalam memutuskan perkara.

Salah satu kisah yang mashur ialah, saat Gubernur Amr bin Ash hendak menggusur rumah seorang Yahudi yang masuk dalam rencana pembangunan masjid. Singkat cerita Yahudi itu melapor kepada Khalifah Umar, selanjutnya Yahudi hanya diberikan tulang yang digaris dengan pedang. Setelah diberikan kepada Amr bin Ash, bergetarlah ia dan tidak jadi menggusurnya.

Namun, lihat respon Yahudi ini, justru ia masuk islam dan memberikan rumahnya untuk dibangun masjid. Inilah dampak sikap adil, hingga mengantarkan hidayah padahal diawalnya nyata-nyata dia kecewa. Saat suatu nilai ketaqwaan ditegakkan, ujungnya adalah sebuah kemuliaan yang didapatkan.

Nabi Muhammad SAW pernah berpesan, “Sehari seorang pemimpin yang adil lebih utama daripada beribadah 60 tahun, dan satu hukum ditegakkan di bumi akan dijumpainya lebih bersih daripada hujan 40 hari” (HR Thabrani, Bukhari, Muslim, dan Imam Ishaq).

Perbandingan tindakan keadilan dengan ibadah 60 tahun. Bayangkan betapa visionernya Nabi kita, yang membandingkan sehari sikap adil dengan usia rata-rata manusia. Inilah keadilan efeknya bisa sampai seusia manusia. Begitu panjang dan apabila sikap adil ini dicontoh oleh penerusnya, akan menjadi jariyah amal sang pemimpin yang adil itu.

Satu hukum yang tegak di bumi lebih bersih dari pada hujan 40 hari. Betapa dahsyat efek sebuah keadilan, tidak hanya menyentuh tentang usia ibadah, namun juga kebersihan bumi. Seorang pemimpin yang berani menegakkan keadilan akan lebih membersihkan bumi dibandingkan dengan hujan selama 40 hari. Mengapa demikian? Karena, keadilan akan membersihkan segala bentuk kejahatan, kecurangan yang dilakukan manusia dzalim, kendati pun ia seorang Muslim.

Keadilan menjadi dambaan semua orang yang bernaung dalam suatu kepemimpinan, maka adillah!!!. Namun, jangan sampai tuntutan keadilan itu membuatmu lupa akan nilai kebenaran. Rasululloh pernah dituntut keadilan oleh sahabatnya Dul Quwaisirah yang merasa dikecewakan dengan kata yang tidak sopan. Namun, Nabi menjelaskan maksudnya yang mengutamakan mu’alaf daripada kaum anshar. Kaum anshar yang sebelumnya juga menuntut keadilan Nabi, menjadi mengerti dan menangis memohon maaf. Sedangkan Dul Quwaisirah justru menjadi tokoh khawarij (keluar barisan jihad) yang memusuhi Nabi dan pengikutnya.

So bersikaplah adil dan tegakkanlah, namun jangan meninggalkan kebenaran. Karena meninggalkan kebenaran dan melakukan maksiat atas dasar kecewa tetaplah tidak benar di sisi Alloh. Jadilah pribadi yang teguh dengan keadilan, meski terhadap diri sendiri. Wallohu a’lam.
